The Chamber
The Sparwood Chamber of Commerce was incorporated in 1983 and operates the Chamber, the Business Information Centre and the Visitor Information Centre from our offices located at Titan Park in Sparwood.
We believe in building community through business. We work to support and advocate for our business community. The chamber has represented its members on a number of issues, and is involved in many events specifically focused on bringing visitors and residents to our businesses.
Mission Statement
The objectives of the Sparwood Chamber of Commerce is to sustain existing business, enhance business opportunities and improve the economic, social, ecological and culture well being of the community, through demonstrated leadership in the promotion of economic development and diversification and support for, and initiation of, community events.
Visitor Information Centre
Operating from the same premises and with the same management, the Chamber operates the Sparwood Visitor Information Centre, and is a founding member of the Provincial Tourist Network. Through the Visitor Centre at the first stop off point in BC from Alberta, thousands of visitors are provided with information about Sparwood and the beautiful Elk Valley as well as the rest of British Columbia.
The Visitor Centre is home to The Titan, one of the largest trucks in the world. It is an appropriate symbol to the significance of our mining culture and heritage. We have over 60,000 visitors annually.
Our Visitor Centre has public washrooms, WIFI, water filling stations located inside and out, picninc tables, large parking lot, dog walking area, and visitor board information and trail map’s. We also have sani dump facility.
The centre offers a wide range of free local and provincial information. We have maps, brochures, and books. We also have a variety of gifts and souvenior’s, shop carrying.
